How to apply face , body and hair oil

Applying facial oils to warm, damp skin is one of the best ways to get the most out of your skincare routine. Not only does it help lock in moisture, but it also helps your skin absorb the beneficial properties of the oil more quickly and effectively. While your skin is still slightly damp, dispense a few drops of oil in your hands and gently rub your palms together before pressing the oil onto your skin. A few drops is enough, the oil will spread itself. This will help lock in moisture and keep your skin looking healthy and hydrated.Warm and damp skin is more receptive to facial oils , allowing them to penetrate deeper for maximum hydration and nourishment. Remember that the same thing goes for body oils and hair oils and masks, always apply to slightly damp skin and hair.

Essential oils in skincare

Super Chia seed oil

Why chia seed oil is the major ingredient in our Face it serum. Usually what’s good for our insides is often good for our outsides as well, this is certainly true for chia seeds. This  oil is extracted from the tiny seeds. Chia seed oil is rich in fatty acids, fibers, proteins, vitamins and minerals. It supports antioxidant activity, anti microbial activity and helps remove dirt from clogged pores which makes it suitable for both dry and oily skin.

Chia seed oil boosts hydration levels in skin, alleviates itchy skin, and fortifies skin barrier function protecting skin from environmental damage. The oil inhibits moisture loss, leaving skin soft and smooth

Many cultures also use chia seed oil to add a healthy shine to hair. Why not try a few drops of Face it serum also as a hair oil.

Don’t forget to use it on slightly damp skin so the oil can penetrate easily and not just sit on top of dry skin.

Nourish dry winter hands

If winter weather leaves your hands cracked and dry, especially if you wash your hands often, there  are a few things you can do to soothe dry hands.

Use a mild soap for hand washing. Preferably natural or organic, without the harsh ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). An organic soap has milder sulfates that won’t dry your skin or harm the environment.

Apply hand cream after washing your hands. Use a natural organic one. The synthetic soaps are often based on mineral oils which come from petroleum. Not good for our skin or the planet. Body buddy lotion also works really well as a hand lotion.

Use an overnight hand mask. Apply an extra thick balm/ointment such as All you need is me balm on your hands which will nourish and work during the night when your skin is in repair mode. If you feel that it’s too sticky, use thin cotton gloves.

Toilet talk

Keep a lid on it.
Here comes a bit of 🚽toilet talk and etiquette. Engineers at Boulder university recently conducted a scientific study that shows that particles from flushing the toilet with an open lid can fly up to 1,5 meters. It sprays on the walls, can zoom straight onto your face, land on your skin, and any objects we have in the bathroom.
While being meticulous keeping our skin fresh and clean, I don’t think anyone wants germs and bacteria sprayed on it. Sorry about this disgusting 🤢topic

Save my dry winter skin

Dry skin is more common in the colder winter months. We often expose our skin to changes in humidity and temperature which can irritate our skin. Turning the heat up high indoors and taking hot showers, then going outside to colder temperatures. The cold weather, snow, rain and harsh winds can strip the skin of its natural, moisturizing oils.
We need moisture for the skin barrier to perform well. Loss of moisture can result in skin flaking, show up as rough patches or redness and cracks. Dry skin may be itching, stinging and feel sensitive to the touch.
The All you need is me balm is perfect to use as an overnight mask. It locks in moisture while allowing skin to breathe. A family staple
