Nourish dry winter hands

If winter weather leaves your hands cracked and dry, especially if you wash your hands often, there  are a few things you can do to soothe dry hands.

Use a mild soap for hand washing. Preferably natural or organic, without the harsh ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). An organic soap has milder sulfates that won’t dry your skin or harm the environment.

Apply hand cream after washing your hands. Use a natural organic one. The synthetic soaps are often based on mineral oils which come from petroleum. Not good for our skin or the planet. Body buddy lotion also works really well as a hand lotion.

Use an overnight hand mask. Apply an extra thick balm/ointment such as All you need is me balm on your hands which will nourish and work during the night when your skin is in repair mode. If you feel that it’s too sticky, use thin cotton gloves.

Save my dry winter skin

Dry skin is more common in the colder winter months. We often expose our skin to changes in humidity and temperature which can irritate our skin. Turning the heat up high indoors and taking hot showers, then going outside to colder temperatures. The cold weather, snow, rain and harsh winds can strip the skin of its natural, moisturizing oils.
We need moisture for the skin barrier to perform well. Loss of moisture can result in skin flaking, show up as rough patches or redness and cracks. Dry skin may be itching, stinging and feel sensitive to the touch.
The All you need is me balm is perfect to use as an overnight mask. It locks in moisture while allowing skin to breathe. A family staple

All you need is me for your muscles

Almost everyone has had sore and aching muscles at some time. It’s then easy to reach for the anti-inflammatory warming ointments that are marketed everywhere. They promise to relieve pain. But did you know that some of them contain the poisonous substance Diclofenac. Diclofenac causes a serious threat to fish, aquatic organisms, plants, and mammals. It’s also difficult to break down in wastewater treatment plants so there’s a risk it ends up polluting our waterways. The Swedish medical products agency (Läkemedelsverket) are proposing a ban on these and other products that harm the environment in retail outlets except pharmacies. In my opinion there should be a ban on products that harm the environment everywhere. Check the ingredients in your ointments or tablets and try to avoid using one that contains Diclofenac. All the ingredients in All you need is me balm are anti-inflammatory. 100% of the ingredients are natural and 95% organic so it won’t damage the environment plus it comes in a sustainable tube made out of sugarcane. . Its lovely and soothing on tired, tight muscles, so why not try it next time? Even better if you can convince someone to give you a nice massage ;)

Best protection against sunburn, windburn and the elements

Again, All you need is me balm proved to be invaluable when skiing in cold, windy and snowy weather. Best protection against sunburn, windburn and the elements. In the morning we applied it to our faces. All you need is me doesn’t clog the pores, it lets your skin breathe but locks in moisture. In the evening we applied it to our legs for relief of our aching sore muscles. Next morning we were good to go again. All the ingredients in All you need is me are anti inflammatory. There are only a few ingredients but they are all active and work in synergy. Castor oil, beeswax, olive oil, sheabutter, vitamin E, blueberry seed oil and rosemary leaf extract. That’s it. As it contains no water it won’t freeze on your skin like water based creams do. As it has a limited ingredient list, All you need is me likely won’t irritate your skin. Of all my products, this is the one I’m most proud of. It was created for my son when he was a baby. Now he is my big “baby” and (reluctant) model in this post 😊

Protect your face from harsh weather

Walking may be the simplest and most underrated form of exercise.

There is a lot of information out there about the positives of running and lifting weights, but the simple activity of walking can provide a whole host of benefits too.

Walking is simple, free, and nearly any able-bodied person can do it.

As well as burning calories, studies show that brisk walks may help to reduce the intake of high calorie snacks by half. Walking increases bone strength, every step counts. People who walk at least 1,5km a day have a higher bone density than those who don’t.

Walking is just as effective as running for fighting major diseases.

Regular brisk walking may help to maintain a healthy weight, prevent various conditions including heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and stroke. Improves your cardiovascular fitness level, strengthens bones, muscles, and improves muscle endurance. May improve your mood, sleep, balance, and coordination. Builds up your immune system and reduces stress. Researchers found that walking for 30 minutes, 3 times a week for 3 months had the same mood boosting result as antidepressants.

As for myself, I have a dog who is a very fast walker, come rain or shine, I’m out there walking. I have noticed that my normal winter lows are not as bad since I got my dog Spencer. If it’s very cold or harsh weather I protect my face with All you need is me balm. Since it contains no water but let’s your skin breathe, it’s perfect for protecting the face. My best ideas and thinking also happen out there on the walks.

See you out there :)

Super dry hands

The solution for super dry hands.

This evening ritual will bring relief to very dry hands.

Apply All you need is me balm to your hands at bedtime.

Don’t rub it in too much. Let the beeswax which is still alive start it’s process. Natural ingredients work in synergy with each other and therefor become much more powerful together.

Wake up to soft and smooth hands

So, what’s in it? What makes it so great?

Castor oil is a versatile vegetable oil pressed from the castor bean. It smooths flaky skin, provides a barrier on the skin and protects against moisture loss. We also included beeswax in All you need is me balm.It contains natural emulsifiers which help to retain moisture in the skin and forms a protective layer against irritants to the skin. The reason we included olive oil is that it’s an unbeatable moisturizer that keeps the skin soft and supple while being loaded with nutrients. We added Shea Butter as the concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids will work wonders for dry skin. Vitamin E as it is calming and a real workhorse of a vitamin. Blueberry seed oil is a hero ingredient in the All you need is me balm. Rich in essential fatty acids and phytonutrients, one of the most potent antioxidants great for dry, cracked and scaly skin.

Keeping skin moisturized prevents dry skin and all symptoms that come with it.
