Minerals can make you look really good! Boron

Loving those minerals and what they can do for us.

BORON- a trace mineral

Boron is now being recognized as an extremely important nutrient for supporting healthy bone mass and preventing osteoporosis. If you want great bones, take boron and stand tall!                                                          In a study of post-menopausal women, just 3mg of boron a day reduced calcium excretion by 40%. That is extremely significant to prevent bone loss.

In laboratory studies, boron has been shown to help maintain joints, bones, and cognitive functions and may even help to protect the prostate. Study after study has shown that people who live in areas where levels of boron in the soil and water are high, report fewer joint problems. In addition it is essential for the production of active Vitamin D and is necessary for proper bone formation.

Boron increases the electrical activity of the brain. Low boron intake results in poor performances in tasks emphasizing manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, attention, perception, short and long term memory.

If you are bothered by hot flashes, boron may help.

Good sources of boron include apples, broccoli, cauliflower, grapes, green leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts, peaches, pears, prunes, alfalfa, kelp and tomatoes

The food sources where you can find boron are all healthy as well, so it´s just to start munching. If you take a multi mineral supplement, make sure that it includes boron and Vitamin D. I just find minerals and vitamins so exciting and what they can do in our bodies.

Stay happy and healthy,                                                                                                                                        Tina
