Makeup Clinging to Dry Patches? Start With Your Skincare
Deel
You put on your foundation, step closer to the mirror, and there they are: little dry patches around your nose, across your cheeks or beside your mouth. If your makeup is clinging to dry patches, it is tempting to add more coverage. But sometimes the most useful change happens before the makeup goes on.
The aim is not to create a perfect face. It is to help your skin feel comfortable, so makeup is something you enjoy rather than something you keep trying to fix.
Why does foundation make dry patches more noticeable?
Makeup can settle around flakes and uneven areas instead of sitting smoothly over them. Adding more foundation or powder may make that texture stand out even more. A rich layer of skincare is not automatically the answer either: too much product, or layers that have not settled, can leave makeup slipping or rolling into little bits.
Start by noticing what is happening. Is your bare skin already rough and tight? Or does the problem appear only when you layer particular products? Those are useful clues before you replace your foundation.
A gentler way to prepare your skin
1. Resist the urge to scrub everything smooth
If skin is already uncomfortable, vigorous rubbing is unlikely to make your morning easier. Cleanse gently with lukewarm water and pat rather than rub with your towel. Avoid introducing a new scrub or several new products just before an occasion.
2. Use a small amount of nourishing face oil
Face It Serum is an oil-based serum made with chia seed, safflower and rosehip oils, vitamin E, sunflower oil, and bergamot and geranium essential oils. It contains 100% natural ingredients, with 99% certified organic ingredients.
Apply 3–5 drops to clean, slightly damp skin and gently press over your face and neck. Give it time to absorb before your next layer. The goal is skin that feels nourished, not a slippery surface. Face It can be used underneath moisturiser and sunscreen; it does not replace sunscreen.
3. Give stubborn dry spots a little extra attention
If a small area still feels rough, use a tiny amount of All You Need Is Me balm just where it is needed. Warm it between your fingertips and press on a very thin layer. More is not better under foundation, and a richer balm may work better for you in the evening than under makeup.
This concentrated balm combines castor oil, beeswax, olive oil, shea butter, vitamin E, blueberry seed oil and rosemary leaf extract. It is 100% natural and made with 95% organic ingredients. The oils and shea butter help soften dry skin, while beeswax helps hold moisture in.
4. Let the layers settle, then use less coverage
Finish your daytime skincare with sunscreen, following its directions, and let the layers settle before applying makeup. Try a thin layer of foundation first, gently pressing it onto dry areas rather than repeatedly buffing over them. Add coverage only where you want it and keep powder light on patches that already look dry.
If products start rolling or pilling, simplify the layers and try smaller amounts next time. That is not necessarily a sign that your skin needs exfoliating.
Make tomorrow morning a little easier tonight
After gently removing your makeup, take a moment to notice where your skin feels tight. You can use All You Need Is Me as a thin overnight face-mask layer on dry areas, or across your face if that suits your skin. Skin may feel softer and look dewier by morning, although everyone's skin responds differently.
There is no need to change your whole routine at once. Introduce one change at a time so you can see what actually helps. Both products contain botanical ingredients, and Face It contains essential oils, so patch test first if your skin is reactive. Stop using a product if it irritates your skin.

Frequently asked questions
Should I exfoliate before applying makeup to dry patches?
Not automatically. If your skin feels tight, sore or irritated, scrubbing may make it less comfortable. Begin with gentle cleansing and a simpler routine rather than trying to rub away every uneven area.
Can I use Face It Serum under makeup?
Yes. Apply 3–5 drops to clean, slightly damp skin, allow it to absorb, then continue with your moisturiser and sunscreen as needed. Let your skincare settle before applying foundation and adjust the amount if the finish feels too rich.
Can I use All You Need Is Me all over my face?
It can be used as a face balm, including as a thin overnight mask when skin feels dry or tight. Under makeup, start with a tiny amount on specific dry areas. Individual preferences and skin responses vary.
Are these products certified organic?
The finished products are not certified organic. They are made with certified organic ingredients: 99% for Face It Serum and 95% for All You Need Is Me balm.
Do I need a discount code for the autumn sale?
No. The 25% discount is applied automatically to eligible products when your order meets the minimum purchase of 250 SEK.
What if the same dry patch keeps coming back?
If a patch persists, cracks, bleeds or becomes painful, get advice from a healthcare professional rather than covering it with more makeup or trying increasingly strong skincare.
If your mornings need a softer starting point, explore Face It Serum and see whether a few nourishing drops fit your routine.
