Every year during this time, I feel a bit conflicted. Traditional fireworks, while beautiful, come at a high cost: noise pollution, toxic chemicals, harm to animals, and lingering waste that damages our environment.
That’s why we’re thrilled to see some cities in Europe and the US already leading the way in embracing silent fireworks and digital sky shows. These innovative alternatives light up the night without harming the environment or causing distress to wildlife and pets. Silent fireworks bring the same dazzling beauty without the deafening booms, while digital sky shows—using drones and lasers—offer stunning, eco-friendly, waste-free displays.
It’s high time we rethink outdated traditions that harm more than they celebrate. Let’s follow the example of these forward-thinking cities and push for a ban on harmful fireworks, replacing them with modern, sustainable alternatives.
