Holistic approach to beauty and wellness

Those who know me, know that I’m a big believer in a holistic approach to overall beauty and wellness. What we eat, how we move, what we apply to our skin and what we think is all connected. We have all probably heard about the fantastic benefits of meditation. I’ve tried doing it on my own, apps and websites with guided meditations. I stick with it for a few days but then... Now I’ve found something that works for me that I wanted to share. It still took discipline the first week, but now it’s a habit. YouTube 👍
I like the @thehonestguys for meditation and Suzanne Grace for breathing exercises and clearing your chakras. I have to say, I find myself with a more positive mind. Do you have a favorite meditation method you would like to share?

Why you should think about adding anti pollution to your skincare routine

Why you should think about adding anti pollution to your skincare routine. Air pollutants don’t just smell bad, they cause free radical damage to your skin. That means it contributes to breaking down collagen, causing sagging, fine lines and wrinkles. While pollutants are a year around problem, the skin is extra sensitive and susceptible when exposed to cold winds and moisture stripping central heating. You can protect your skin from premature aging by using anti pollution skincare. In our Make my day cream we have the ingredient Algica which has proven anti pollution properties. Last chance this weekend for our January sales. trueorganicofsweden.com

What happens to your skin when you are sleeping 😴

What happens to your skin when you are sleeping? There is a reason it’s called beauty sleep. When you sleep it gives your skin a chance to restore, repair and recover. There is actually a fair amount of research and science done about the concept of beauty sleep. This is when some of the most significant internal and epidermal revival takes place. When you sleep your body produces collagen which keeps your skin healthy, promotes cell reproduction and minimizes fine lines. Personally I use a silk pillowcase to avoid sleeping marks in my face and it’s also better for your hair. Even if the Algica in our Make my day cream has tested to be UV resistant it’s beneficial to use as a night cream for other reasons. It’s rich in antioxidants and a powerhouse of nutrients. Did you know that your skin absorbs a higher level of nutrients while you sleep ? So go ahead, close your eyes and take that nap 😴 😴 😴

How do you use a serum?

How do you use a serum?

You apply serum after cleansing, before your face cream twice a day.

Serums have powerful concentrated ingredients that go deeper into the skin than creams do. Serums have active elements that often work to prevent wrinkles, hydrate skin add  glow and or reduce pigments on skin. Protects your skin from free radicals and future damage. Has the potential to provide visible results.

For an oil blend serum to be able to be called serum, it needs to have only active ingredients like our Face it serum.

It is usually not enough to only use a serum; you need a facial cream on top to create a barrier to protect your skin. Just let the serum sink into your skin for a few minutes before you cover with your face cream. Always apply oily serum on moist skin, because if you apply oil on top of dry skin, it will just sit on top.

Have a lovely weekend

Antipollution means anti-aging

Antipollution = anti-aging

You may have heard the term antipollution being used more frequently about skincare and makeup over the past few years. But what does it actually mean? If you are living or working in a city you can’t help but notice the dust in the street coloring everything grey. You may not notice that the air smells bad if you breathe the polluted air every day. Then when you visit the countryside, the air smells so good you know that you have been in a polluted environment. What is this pollution doing to our skin? There is a great deal of interest in the subject and a lot of emerging scientific research is being done. Toxic air has been linked to premature aging, accelerating wrinkles and age spots. The small particles enter through our pores. If you are not in the city, it doesn’t help being nearby as the particles are spread by the wind. That’s why we see more and more antipollution products on the market. Traffic pollution is emerging as the single most toxic substance for our skin. We were delighted to hear that Algica, an algae that is one of the active ingredients in our Make my day cream has been cleared as an antipollution substance after clinical studies.

Algica, together with Vitamin E, also an antipollution protector in Make my day cream makes it an effective pollution shield.

Oat oil in your body lotion

Oats are amazing! Not just for a healthy breakfast but also in your skincare. Oat oil is rich in vitamins A, E and B as well as loads of calcium, zinc, iron and manganese. A must have ingredient when we created our Body buddy lotion. Oat oil is antimicrobial, anti itch, anti inflammatory and soothing for uncomfortable dry skin conditions. Oat oil has fantastic antioxidant benefits which makes it a great anti-aging ingredient. It’s deeply moisturizing, highly absorbable and acts as a protective barrier. It’s a wonder not all body lotions have oat oil as an ingredient.

Anti pollution organic skincare

We can now claim that our Make my day cream protects skin from air pollution damage. A recently conducted study showed that Algica, which is one of the ingredients in Make my day, prevents harmful air pollution from reaching the skin. Exposure of the skin to air pollutants has been associated with skin aging, inflammation, sagging, uneven and dull skin tone. Air pollution may even be as damaging as sun exposure on unprotected skin.
We are very excited about this news! Algica is a real hero ingredient 😀💫✨For more information about Algica check out swedishalgaefactory.com
