Keep a lid on it. Here comes a bit of 🚽toilet talk and etiquette. Engineers at Boulder university recently conducted a scientific study that shows that particles from flushing the toilet with an open lid can fly up to 1,5 meters. It sprays on the walls, can zoom straight onto your face, land on your skin, and any objects we have in the bathroom. While being meticulous keeping our skin fresh and clean, I don’t think anyone wants germs and bacteria sprayed on it. Sorry about this disgusting 🤢topic
Dry skin is more common in the colder winter months. We often expose our skin to changes in humidity and temperature which can irritate our skin. Turning the heat up high indoors and taking hot showers, then going outside to colder temperatures. The cold weather, snow, rain and harsh winds can strip the skin of its natural, moisturizing oils. We need moisture for the skin barrier to perform well. Loss of moisture can result in skin flaking, show up as rough patches or redness and cracks. Dry skin may be itching, stinging and feel sensitive to the touch. The All you need is me balm is perfect to use as an overnight mask. It locks in moisture while allowing skin to breathe. A family staple
How fit is your face? Try this for a more defined jaw line.
Facial exercising helps improve muscle tone in the face. It enhances flow of oxygen and circulation which increases skin elasticity. It may improve posture with the result of fewer headaches and less teeth grinding.
1. Tilt your head back until you can see the ceiling
2. Lift your lower lip over your upper lip as much as possible
3. While doing the second step, you should feel the jaw muscles near your ear
A little Sunday tip. Most of us probably know that cucumber 🥒 slices are great to place on puffy eyes. But did you know that raw potato 🥔 slices can work wonders for swollen puffy eyes? There are enzymes in potatoes that are astringent and reduce inflammation. It’s best if the potato is cold, cut thin slices and place them on your eyes. Lie down and relax for 20 minutes. Happy Sunday 🤩

Are you a shallow breather like me? Most people are shallow breathers or upper chest breathers. We usually don’t consciously think about breathing as it happens naturally. Shallow breathing prevents the body’s ability to take in oxygen and may lead to overall diminished health. It tricks the body into thinking you are always stressed. Shallow breathing may impair your thinking, increase blood pressure and heart rate. It keeps you from utilizing the respiratory muscles which can lead to reduced physical ability, lower endurance and becoming winded faster. Shallow breathing may cause sleeping issues and headaches. So what can we do? The techniques to breathing deeply are easy to learn but remembering to practice a few times a day might be harder. There are breathing apps that send you alerts, when you meditate, when you go to sleep. Anything that you do on a regular basis throughout your day can act as a reminder. I do it when I walk my dog. Even if it may feel unnatural to breathe deeply, it comes with many benefits. It allows your body to fully exchange incoming oxygen with outgoing carbon dioxide, slowing heartbeat, stabilize blood pressure and lower stress. Now take a deep breath and enjoy a lovely day 💚💚💚💚C
When your lymphatic system is stagnant, it can show up on your skin. The lymphatic system assists with the expelling of toxins. It lies just beneath your skin. If it is not working as it should or clogged, your skin may suffer from acne, loss of elasticity, premature aging and other skin conditions. The lower body gets a head start in the morning as we get up to walk around and move. To get the circulation going for the upper body try this: clasp your hands behind your head so your elbows stick out. Now in a pumping motion put the elbows together in front of you for a count of 30-50 times. Other ways you can kickstart the system is to dry brush your skin and jump on a trampoline or maybe doing the chicken dance 😉
There’s a reason we put our skincare in tubes (sugarcane) not jars. Skincare in jars encourage ingredients to oxidize (go rancid) faster because every time you open the lid of the jar you expose the cream to air and light. The product with oxidized ingredients may become less effective and may even become bad for your skin by generating free radicals. A jar also invites you to stick your fingers into it. No matter how clean you think your fingers are, there is always the risk of bacteria and other microbes entering the cream when you stick your fingers into it. You can use a spatula but these have to be carefully cleaned in between use to maintain hygiene. To prevent microbial build up, manufacturers often pile their products with chemical anti-bacterial agents and this would be completely unnecessary if they filled the creams in tubes instead of jars.
