Future potential environmentally friendly sunscreen

True organic of Sweden is proud to launch  Make my day cream

Day creams rarely stand out as unique, but we have formulated Make my day with the future potential planet friendly sunscreen Algica.

This is a revolutionary product, and we are first in the world with a day cream containing Algica. Make my day is a soothing face cream rich in antioxidants and super foods like oat kernel oil, rosehip oil, blueberry seed oil, turmeric, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E. The revolutionary ingredient is Algica, the shell of an organically grown microalgae. Tests are currently being conducted to approve this algae material by the EU as an environmentally friendly UV-filter for use in sunscreen. Algica shells originate from the sea and are thereby completely safe for oceans and sea life. As we are all aware today, we need to protect our fragile oceans from harmful and unnatural chemical substances that endanger life in our waters. https://swedishalgaefactory.com/lab/personal-care/      Make my day leaves your skin with a revitalized complexion, balanced moisture levels while naturally slowing the signs of aging and protecting against all harsh elements.                            100% natural          79% organic            Sustainable packaging from sugarcane

A little reminder

As several people who I am close to have discovered malignant skin lesions. Here’s a little reminder to check your skin for suspicious changes and get a screening. Skin cancer is the fastest growing cancer type today and it can spread rapidly. New screening methods are being developed like a “bandaid” that you press on the suspected spot for sometime and then get it analyzed at the pharmacy. Another is being developed by Swedish university @kthuniversity , a device that can analyze the lesion in seconds.

Always use sunscreen with planet friendly ingredients when spending time in the sunshine. Small studies show that taking vitamin C and E supplements may significantly increase the skin’s ability to stand up to UV rays.

Benefits of deep breathing

Listened to a holistic health specialist yesterday. Had my breathing tested, it turns out that I like most people breathe too shallow. Some of the benefits of deep breathing are

*natural pain killer

*improves blood flow

*increases energy levels

*improves posture

*reduces inflammation

*detoxifies the body

*stimulates lymphatic system

*improves digestion

Apparently only people who regularly meditate and practice mindfulness pass this test.

The specialist recommended trying to sleep with a thin piece of surgical tape across the lips so you only breathe through your nose. She said it’s like doing yoga breathing through the night. Maybe something to try ?

Sourcing organic product ingredients

When creating our new products, for True organic of Sweden, the ingredients are very carefully considered. They have to be effective, clean, not too expensive and always planet friendly. When I discovered that rosewood is endangered, I immediately changed to ho-leaf essential oil in our Undercover agent deodorant. Unfortunately it puts a lot of pressure on the consumer to check ingredients before buying. I’m there myself, googling ingredients before buying something new. But, I think we have to. The profit driven organic certification organizations are no guarantee, they let through a lot of ingredients that are not planet friendly at all.

Trick your mind into stressing less

Many of us have returned to work part or full time after a hopefully restful summer.
Maybe stress has already started knocking on the door. Here is a technique I recently learned about to re-wiring your thought patterns:
When you are feeling stressed, imagine that your mind is like a snow globe that has been shaken. The “snow” is whizzing around like a massive huge snowstorm.
Now stop the storm, imagine the “snow” starting to settle on the bottom and be still.
Once the “snow” has reached the bottom, your head will be clear like the water in the snow globe.
This has worked for me, hope it can help you too.

Veggie burgers

Did you hear that a new EU regulation has decided that veggie burgers now have to be called veggie discs?

Makes me think of disc jockey, floppy disk, diskmaskin (for Swedish people)

It’s a little bit funny, no? ..

Like someone ordering a bean burger would get confused and ask “Where is the meat?”

Hmm... is the meat industry behind this maybe?

Forest bathing for wellbeing

Have you heard of forest bathing? It’s a health trend originating from Japan. It means simply being in the forest, taking in the atmosphere of the forest through our senses. It’s meant to be enjoyed slowly, not through a sweaty hike or run.

There are many health benefits and it definitely improves the overall feelings of wellbeing.

Planting bee and butterfly friendly flowers

Don’t forget to leave some of your lawn uncut for our pollinators.

Here’s a list of 10 nectar rich flowers that bees and butterflies love. For planting in pots or in your garden:

Lavender (also keeps mosquitoes away), Dahlia, Wallflower, Borage or Starflower, Foxgloves, Cosmos, Scabious, Verbena, Marigolds (I tried but only got leaves 🙄) and Marjoram or better known as Oregano. Happy planting 🌱

Summertime is sun cream time

Summer time is sun cream time. To protect coral reefs and other sea life, Hawaii was the first State to ban sun creams with harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate. Key West Florida recently followed and also the Caribbean island of Bonaire.Palau in the pacific is the first country that has banned oxybenzone.

We don’t all have coral reefs but we have lakes, waters, sea life and a beautiful planet that needs our help. If you think about it, these chemicals destroy sea life, imagine what it does to our skin and bodies before we flush it out again in the environment.

Here is a list of the worst offenders in sunscreens: oxybenzone, benzophenone-3, octinoxate, octyl methoxycinnamate, octocrylene, 4-methyl-benzylidene camphor, triclosan and more.
Just because it’s sold in a pharmacy doesn’t render it safe, please check the ingredients.
Take care of our oceans, lakes, rivers, sea life and planet, choose a mineral based sun cream ☀️

Bee (a) savior

A recent report from the Swedish environmental protection agency states that the situation is urgent for bees, butterflies and other pollinators. In Sweden as many as one third of our 270 distinct wild bee species are endangered. The problem of bee decline is not unique to Sweden, it is a huge global problem.
Pesticides, lack of food and a changed landscape threaten our little wild gardeners. It means serious consequences for our future. We are totally dependent on the crucial work of bees and other insects. About a third of the food we humans eat is pollinated by them.

What can you and I do to help? The problem seems overwhelming but there are quite a few small things we can do as individuals to help. If you have a lawn, leave some of it to become a flowery meadow and plant bee friendly flowers. Build a bee hotel, it’s not so complicated, watch and learn from a Youtube clip. Plant bee and butterfly friendly flowers on your balcony. All different butterflies have a special host flower of plant where they deposit their eggs and the caterpillars eventually feed. Caterpillars are particular which host plant they will feed off, so you can choose which butterflies you would like to hopefully visit.
Choose and support organic food, skincare, clothes etc.
Don’t use pesticides in your garden or harsh chemical cleaning and washing detergents in your home. For your families health and the health of our planet.
