Dry skin? Get beautiful skin from within. As the weather is getting colder, many of us are experiencing dryer skin. Taking omega 3 oil internally as a supplement may be as good as or better than applying conventional moisturisers.
The long list of Omega 3 skin benefits make it a real skin hero, it helps skin maintain a smooth, elastic texture. It contains essential fatty acids the body can’t make for itself. These are incorporated into cell membranes in the the top layer of skin, forming a protective web around them, helping to stop moisture being lost, and giving skin a healthy appearance. But Omega 3 oils also work deeper in the dermis to control inflammation. Most people see noted improvement in skin health by supplementing with the equivalent of just one to two tablespoon of Omega-3 each day. Oily fish is one of the best sources of omega-3 essential fats, which act as a natural moisturiser and illuminator for your skin from within. If you have a lack of omega-3 in your diet it can lead to premature wrinkles and dry skin.
When choosing a fish oil, make sure you’re paying attention to the milligrams of EPA and DHA – the actual omega-3 content which is what replenishes dry skin. For a plant-based option, the omegas are listed as ALA, and can be found from oils such as black currant seeds or sunflower seeds.
Pictured is our delicious super hydrating Body buddy lotion with oat kernel oil. A perfect complement to omegas. When you apply Body buddy lotion in the morning, your skin is still soft in the evening.

Steps for a Healthier Skin
Everybody wants healthy, natural looking skin. There are many things you can do to obtain a healthier looking skin. Sometimes it can be confusing knowing what steps to take to improve your skin. That's why we created this simple guide to help lead you in the right direction.
Our skin reflects how we treat our body. If we don't drink enough water, our skin will look dehydrated. Dehydration can cause our skin to look dry and dull. Our body requires 8 cups of water daily to remove unwanted toxins and help achieve a glowing skin.
Wash Your face before going to bed
After a long day, the last thing a woman wants to do is wash her face. Cleansing your skin before bed is more important than cleansing in the morning because your skin is exposed to the sun, dirt, makeup, debris, and pollution. Don’t forget to wash your face before bed!
One of the most important ways to protect the skin is by protecting it from the sun. Extensive sun exposure can cause a variety of symptoms, some of which include wrinkles, age spots and more. Use an SPF daily which has at least 10-15 SPF. When outside for an extended period, look for shade or wear a hat. When swimming, apply sunscreen more often.
Daily Moisturizer is a great defense against dehydrated skin. Apply a cream or moisturizer after showering to help seal the moisture that your skin has just absorbed in the shower. Depending on your climate your skin may get dry throughout the day. Apply moisturizer throughout the day to prevent skin from getting dry
Using a facial mask is one of the easiest ways to get healthy glowing skin in just a few minutes. Some of the benefits of using face masks include:
increases hydration: Face masks can bring moisture and hydration to dry and dehydrated skin types. The water from the mask penetrates deep into the skin to soften the skin and improve its elasticity. When skin is hydrated it becomes firmer and obtains a more youthful appearance.
reduces fine lines: Regular use of a face mask can reduce the signs of aging such as fin lines, brown spots, and wrinkles. In addition, you can enjoy softer and smoother skin.
improves skin firmness. Loose skin can make you look older than you are. There are many types of treatments to help firm skin. Using a face mask is at the top of the list to help increase skin firmness.
Serum is being implemented into skin care routines is on the rise. Serums have the highest concentration of active ingredients that you can get without a prescription. Cleansers and moisturizers usually contain 5-10% active ingredients whereas serums contain up to 70% active ingredients. Additional active ingredients mean you are getting more results when looking to reduce fine lines, brighten and firm skin.

Have you wondered what a serum is and if you really need to use it?
So, let’s make this easy. A serum is a skin care product that you apply to your skin after cleansing but before moisturizing with the intent to deliver a potent shot of ingredients directly into your skin.
The best serums offer highly-concentrated doses directly to your skin which makes them great for targeting specific concerns like wrinkles, brightness, acne or hydration. Important is the type of ingredients used and climate friendly natural vs synthetic.
Because active ingredients are more expensive than thickeners and other fillers, serums are also the costliest product in many skin care lines. The reason is because a serum is the workhorse of your ENTIRE regimen. Compared to a regular moisturizer or lotion, you're getting way more bang for your skincare buck.
When applied properly, a 1-ounce container of serum should last months, a few drops are sufficient to cover the entire face.
Unlike a moisturizer, serums are thinner which allows the active ingredients to penetrate quickly into the epidermis instead of lying on the surface.
Face lotions and creams are richer and create a barrier on top of the skin to keep all that good stuff in.
Not all oils are alike, so taking a peek at the list of ingredients is definitely a good idea—quality is key. You want natural oils that are synergistic with the skin and work to address many different skin types and issues, Not synthetic oils, like mineral oil. Far too many oil formulations have those undesirable synthetics hidden in them—just because it says it’s an argan oil treatment on the package doesn’t necessarily mean it’s pure.
Step 1: After cleansing your skin, use a toner to moisten the surface, which helps the oil go through and the skin and really able to drink it up
Step 2: Apply four to five drops of facial oil onto your fingertips. Because face oils contain such concentrated amounts of nutrients, a little bit goes a long way.
Step 3: Gently tap the facial oil from your nose to your ears. pushing it into your pores, rather than just sliding them around on the skin’s surface. This will help your skin absorb the oil and make use of its benefits much quicker. It will spread out by itself, you don’t need to slather everywhere.
Step 4: Smooth from your eyebrows to your hairline in an upward motion; always against gravity. Continue tapping from your neck to your jawline until absorbed. Don’t forget your décolleté
For oily skin- use the face oil before moisturizer, dry skin- use after moisturizer

Why Organic Skincare? The benefits of natural beauty products.
Why Organic Skincare? I get asked this question quite often. Simply put, there are 2 reasons: the good Organic skincare products work better, and they are better for you. People are subject to tons of advertising from the industry giants trying to convince them that their synthetic formulas will work wonders on their skin.
Although small companies making pure, natural beauty products don’t have the advertising dollars needed to gain household recognition, the quality and performance of their products makes them worth searching out. If you are in pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, choosing Organic skincare is a priority. The topic is enormous. It is impossible to cover all the points in one discussion. In this article I will go through the basic benefits of choosing natural beauty products. We will continue in greater detail in articles to come.
When you choose organic skincare, you are choosing products whose ingredients work with the sophisticated natural systems of your skin. Given the right nutrients, our skin has the ability to care for and mend itself. Our bodies use nutrients absorbed not only through food, but also through the skin. It is medically understood that what goes on your skin absorbs into your bloodstream and is carried through your body. Why is it that we are far more scrutinizing about what we put in our body than what we put on it? You have probably thought about the benefits of eating a healthy diet. It makes you wonder about the effects of all the chemicals in the skin products that you are slathering on and rubbing in.
The benefits of natural skincare and cosmetics
Why Organic Skincare? Avoiding chemicals and synthetics.
Why Organic Skincare? Rates of illness and disease continue to rise. There are increasing studies showing the connection between illness and chemicals. We need to eliminate or reduce exposure to synthetics. Synthetics are simply not necessary in skincare and in many cases synthetics are downright scary. These ingredients are often fast acting and invasive. Sometimes (and if you want my honest opinion; ALWAYS) they are causing harm we cannot see. Often this exposure rears its ugly head as skin irritation, chronic headaches, cancers, breathing disabilities, hormone disruption, etc, etc, etc. The range of symptoms is too vast to list everything, but you can see how it covers minor symptoms right up to life threatening consequences.
And for what?! you ask. I’ll tell you for what– first and foremost: money, cheap ingredients are easy to manufacture and market. Also, many commercial products will give you instant gratification with skincare results. Most of these products are designed to do a simple job to help you with one aesthetic purpose; Smoother less visible wrinkles, sun spots disappear, blemishes be gone! Sound familiar? These are just a few of the promises that have been made, and believe me, they can deliver. But all too often there is a high price: asphyxiation of the skin, accelerated dehydration, photosensitivity. In Plain english: cutting oxygen exchange to the skin, premature aging, increased risk of sun spots. Yes, the very evils we were initially fighting catch up to us ten-fold.
Hmmm, rather irritating isn’t it? But it is a simple truth we all know: Rarely are there quick fixes in life. We can however have all that we desire. Fortunately for us our skincare is one thing that is within our control. It really boils down to choices. The good ones, the ones that will give us optimal health and the glow we desire, are within our reach. Keep reading my blog. Learn from my advice and I will lead you to every problem solver you could ever hope for.
Why Organic Skincare? What is Organic skincare again?
When we say Organic Skincare, what we mean using skin products made of plant derived ingredients along with some other naturally occurring ingredients. These ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, GMO and so on and often come with an Organic certification. The integrity of these unadulterated ingredients is maintained in the best way possible with little to no additives. From here the best ingredients for the specific goal are chosen and a natural preservative system is used for longevity.
I hope that this has been an enlightening introduction as to why organic skincare is important. There are many benefits to using natural beauty products, but most importantly, they are better for your health, and they work. And work in a way that lasts a lifetime.

For the first time on record, Americans spent more than 13.5 billion dollars on aesthetic procedures in a single calendar year, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Demand will continue to grow. As many look for more affordable alternatives, Olympic sports therapist and posture expert, Aaron Parnell, has developed a new therapy called Facial Reposturing®. The therapy is a deep‐tissue facial massage and daily workout that tones and relaxes the core muscles of the face that have been affected by time, stress, and gravity.
Parnell served on the Official Sports Massage Team for the Los Angeles Olympics, and later discovered that by minimizing tension patterns from the core muscles of the face, deep lines and wrinkles progressively relax and diminish, leaving a smooth and more youthful face, jaw, and neck contours.
Parnell originally developed Reposturing—The Pain Elimination Method therapy for his pre-Olympics clients who sought relief from chronic pain or support for peak athletic performance. When they expressed a desire to receive treatment for their facial, neck, and jaw tension, Parnell began to conduct extensive research, noticing that a person’s posture has a direct effect on how tension patterns are formed in the face, jaw, and neck. This discovery eventually led to his development of Facial Reposturing®.
“As facial muscles are restored to their natural tone, the skin will plump and tighten over the muscles, leaving it smoother, with a healthy, radiant glow. It works because we are restoring the freedom and natural muscle tone in the face, jawline, and neck,” says Parnell. He adds, “Regular Facial Reposturing treatments, combined with the Facial Reposturing Workout, will produce positive and long lasting results.”
Client, Marian Jung, CPA says, “After being introduced to Facial Reposturing… people have commented that I look 20 years younger. Through this non-invasive treatment, Aaron Parnell has helped reduce the strain and fatigue in my jaw and face. I consider him a vital contributor on my Wellness Team.”
Silicon Valley dentist, Dr. Richard Gregory, DDS states, “Temporomandibular joint disorder is muscular in nature…[such as with] bruxing and clenching… This treatment adjunct is excellent for people suffering with TMJ problems because the reduction in jaw tension may help with pain, headaches, teeth grinding, and uneven jaw opening, all of which can impact the body’s overall health.”
Parnell declares, “Poor posture and facial tension are at the root of premature aging. When you improve posture and minimize facial stress, you actually feel good all over.” He adds, “People are searching for a non-invasive solution that requires no drugs, surgery, or down-time. I think we have something of value with this treatment.”
